This Certificate of Higher Education in Mathematical Sciences provides the basic skills you need for further study in mathematics and statistics and is ideal if you need some mathematics to underpin your studies in other areas. You’ll be introduced to pure mathematics, applied mathematics and statistics; using mathematical software; working with abstract ideas; and modelling real-world problems using mathematics.

The General Arts and Science one-year certificate at George Brown College is designed for students who wish to develop the skills and competencies required in college, university, and the workplace. As a student in this program, you will explore subjects within humanities, social sciences, and science and mathematics; develop skills in critical thinking, oral and written communications, and career development; and acquire knowledge and explore ideas in a range of disciplines to meet your needs and interests. Students who meet GPA requirements may transfer into the two-year diploma program, which has established pathways to a number of universities.

This innovative fourteen-week online program is designed to equip professionals with an understanding of the science behind international challenges and practical skills in negotiation, strategic communication, critical thinking, and policy analysis.

UNITAR has partnered with the University of Arizona to offer a Professional Certificate in Science Policy and Diplomatic Practice. This online programme provides students the opportunity to gain valuable insights into the world of diplomacy and international affairs, equipping them with the skills needed to help foster global cooperation in addressing pressing scientific challenges.

The General Science Certificate at Keyano College provide students with the opportunity to acquire the essential knowledge and skills required in college, university, and the workforce. Exposure to a range of subjects in the general sciences allow students to discover their academic interests and specialize in their future education. The program includes basic scientific concepts that support development of essential employability skills. An optional work-integrated learning experience provides students an opportunity to explore a related career of choice. Upon completing this General Science certificate, students may pursue a range of opportunities including transferring into Bachelor of Science programs across Alberta.

The Department of Science, within the School of Applied Science and Technology, is a hub of solutions and innovation. Along with certificates, diplomas, and undergraduate degree transfer options in Computing Science, Engineering, and several Science specializations, the Department offers Alberta's first Bachelor of Computing Science degree, allowing students to complete all 4 years at NWP.

Take your horse care knowledge to the next level in the one-of-a-kind Farrier Science program. Recognized as providing the finest farriery programming in North America, Olds College of Agriculture & Technology has a fully-equipped, state-of-the art farrier lab. This one year program will train you in new techniques and products designed to serve a rapidly growing and changing equine industry.

If you want to explore different fields of study, prefer to follow a shorter program, or earn university credits outside a traditional degree, the Certificate in Arts and Science gives you that flexibility. The certificate may also be of interest to those who already have an undergraduate degree, but are looking to refresh their knowledge or learn new skills.

This course prepares you for work with the elderly or people with disabilities in the community or residential setting. The five-month course delivered over 3 days (4 days if you choose the dual stream) is designed in consultation with industry. It includes theory and hands-on learning with organised work placement (see below) .
