The Adult-Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) Certificate program is a non-degree course credit option for nurses with a master’s degree in nursing. This program provides theory and clinical experiences to prepare nurses to apply to the state of California Board of Registered Nursing for certification and to apply for national certification as an adult clinical nurse specialist (CNS) by examination.

The two-year graduate certificate program is designed for internationally educated nurses with a four-year bachelor's degree in nursing.

The Family Nurse Practitioner is designed to expand the knowledge of the nurse as it relates to the role of the family nurse practitioner and advanced nursing practice. Family nurse practitioners serve as the primary health care providers in many diverse practice settings including, but not limited to, private medical offices, health clinics and acute care settings.

The Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP) Certificate program is designed as a non-degree course credit option for nurses with a master’s degree in nursing. This program prepares students to provide primary care to  young adults, adults, and older adults across the continuum of care from wellness to illness, in settings including community health centers and clinics, private medical practices, long-term care facilities, and patient homes. 

The Ohio University Post Graduate Adult Gerontology-Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AG-ACNP) Certificate is for those who already hold a Master's degree in nursing and seek to attain the advanced practice role of the AG-ACNP. The 20-credit program features track-specific content that meets the core competencies and clinical hour requirements for AG-ACNP's set forth by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and can lead to specialized advanced practice certification eligibility.

The Ohio University Post-Graduate Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) program is designed to give active nurses the skills, confidence, and autonomy needed to become a family nurse practitioner (FNP). The 20 credit-hour program provides students with the current theory and advanced practical knowledge necessary to be able to assess and manage the health of patients ranging from children to adults. It prepares students for providing care to patients of all ages and in a variety of medical settings.

The Graduate Certificate in Acute Care Nursing is a contemporary, accelerated and fully online program of study designed for Registered Nurses wanting to expand and future proof their specialist knowledge and professional capabilities in acute care nursing. The Graduate Certificate in Acute Care Nursing consists of four subjects: 96320 Specialty Clinical Practice, 96314 Evidence for Informing Practice, 96324 Nursing - Sensitive Indicators in Acute Care and 96315 Recognising and Responding to Acute Deterioration.

The three-year nursing program will prepare students to meet the demanding challenges of the nursing profession. Theoretical and experiential learning in state-of-the-art laboratory facilities will be enhanced with fieldwork in hospitals and health care centers of the surrounding region. The Practical Nursing program gives students the critical thinking skills needed to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. They will learn how to evaluate patient progress, interact with other professionals and deliver nursing care to clients and their families in various settings. Through clinical placements, students link theory with practice to gain valuable experience in the health care environment. Graduates of the program are eligible to write the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Exam (CPNRE).
