This is an intensive course giving you the essentials of mechanical engineering.

The role of a mechanical engineer is to take a product from an idea to the marketplace, and you’ll need a broad range of skills to achieve this. This course will teach you to understand the forces and thermal environment that a product, its parts or its subsystems will encounter, as well as how to design for functionality, aesthetics and environment. A blend of human factors engineering and mechanical engineering, students in this certificate program will learn the fundamentals of design in both fields and apply them to the design of assistive devices to address real-world problems.

The delivery of the HNC Manufacturing Maintenance Engineer encompasses today’s manufacturing requirements and that of their project and lead staff. The course is in six parts, or modules, covering the key aspects of electrical, electronic and mechanical engineering such as engineering science and maths, electrical and electronic principles and design with CAD. The programme is therefore equipped to provide the manufacturing maintenance engineers of today with the knowledge to understand the principles behind electrical and mechanical systems, design and analyses.

Whether it is planned as a routine event a long time in advance or arranged on an “as required” basis to keep a ship operational, it is a process all ships will encounter. This Certificate in Ship Repair Contract Management course will help students understand how to manage the process from a contractual point of view, and how to manage the repair taking into consideration quality, guarantees, risk, and more.
