The health sciences certificate program is for students who wish to change careers and work on meeting the science prerequisites for professional schools such as medical, dental, physician assistant, pharmacy, physical therapy.

This program provides students with basic skills and knowledge in behavioural health competencies. Students will earn “stackable credits” in courses that focus on improving behavioural health competencies of the incumbent worker, Peer Support Specialists, community helpers, and continuing students.

In the region’s only vascular sonography program, you’ll learn the specialized skills to conduct ultrasounds on veins and arteries throughout the body. Our hands-on curriculum includes clinical rotations through a variety of health care facilities, as well as experiential learning through vascular scanning in our on-campus ultrasound suite.

Computed Tomography or CT procedures play an essential role in diagnosing diseases and injuries. A CT scanner uses radiation to produce images of the inside of the human body when a patient lies inside the CT machine, shaped like a doughnut, x-radiation assists with creating sectional images that physicians ultimately use to diagnose medical problems.
