The Certificate in Health Professions Education program is designed to help doctors, nurses, advanced practice providers, therapists, and a wide range of other health professionals become experts in health professions education. It is housed in the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine and taught in cooperation with the Wheelock College of Education & Human Development. The program is offered in online, in-person, and FlexPath formats and incorporates regular direct synchronous teaching sessions with program faculty.

The Human Factors in Medical Devices and Systems certificate prepares students to help make medical devices and systems safe, effective, and satisfying to use. You will develop and enhance your skills in medical/health technology assessment, validation, and overall design.

The certificate in biomedical engineering addresses this need through a highly interdisciplinary course of study that allows students to focus on biomedical instrumentation, biomedical optics, biomaterials/biotechnology and tissue engineering or other related areas of study.

The Tufts Certificate in Biophotonics program encompasses the essential areas of this emerging industry, including the design, engineering, and use of optical tools for diagnostics and therapeutics. The program is administered by the Department of Biomedical Engineering with additional support from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and the Data Intensive Studies Center.

Cellular agriculture seeks to advance tissue engineering for the production of affordable, nutritious, protein-rich foods. Researchers and manufacturers translate cellular agriculture research into food industry innovation that has positive environmental and societal benefits. The interdisciplinary program is administered by the Department of Biomedical Engineering with collaboration from the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, the School of Engineering, the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy, and the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine.

Clinical research is the fastest growing discipline in the burgeoning medical device and pharmaceutical industries. Keeping pace with the ever-increasing body of knowledge and new regulatory procedures generated by advances in clinical research is critical to career success.

This post-master’s certificate is for licensed mental health counselors who desire the additional credential of licensed school adjustment counselor. The program provides the course work and field experience needed, without repeating course work they will already have taken for mental health. The School Adjustment and Mental Health Counseling program trains mental health professionals to work within the school culture and in clinical settings serving the mental health needs of PreK-12 students and their families. The use of evidence-based counseling strategies when working with children and adolescents in school settings is emphasized.

The Behavior Analyst certificate at Cambridge College fulfills the coursework requirement to sit for the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) exam. The course sequence is delivered via a hybrid learning model that includes in-person and online courses, as well as supervised field experiences. Students who complete the behavior analysis course sequence and successfully pass the BCBA examination may apply for national certification and also as a Licensed Applied Behavior Analyst (LABA) in Massachusetts. The program is approved by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.
