This course of study is designed to prepare students for entry level positions in municipal and county law enforcement agencies (i.e. police or sheriff departments), and/or to transfer to Bachelor’s degree programs in Criminal Justice or related fields to prepare for federal or state-level law enforcement positions (i.e., FBI, DEA, INS, etc.)

The certificate aims to focus on criminal law during law school to prepare themselves for the practice of criminal law or policy. The program will require students to develop litigation skills through at least one criminal law clinic and skills courses while also providing a strong framework in the fundamentals of criminal law and procedure through coursework.

Florida Coastal School of Law offers students the opportunity to earn a J.D. degree with an accompanying certificate in Criminal Practice Advocacy.

Students will gain knowledge in the Criminal Justice field and be exposed to the workings of the criminal justice systems, introduced to law enforcement, its history and development in the U.S., the procedures and techniques relating to criminal evidence.

This 12 credit certificate in crime and community mapping develops data mapping and analytic skills which are highly marketable in the criminal justice and social service professions. You will not only learn the principles of criminal justice and the factors associated with criminal behavior, but will also collect geographical data and evaluate it from the perspective of police and criminal justice agencies.Even better – you will work with real police department data and provide results that assist local law enforcement agencies.

The Criminal Justice Technology program is designed to provide students with in-depth knowledge of the criminal justice system—police, courts, corrections. Mayland will prepare students for careers in the criminal justice field and provide a foundation in the understanding of “why crime.”

This program enhances those currently employed in corrections or substance abuse agencies who work with addicted populations.

Earn a certificate in crime scene investigation. In one year or less. Demand is growing nationwide for crime scene investigators, both in security and police fields. But not just any crime scene investigators; these fields require investigators who not only are familiar with the procedures to record and process crime scenes appropriately but who also have the relevant investigative skills.
