19 Cosmetology Certificate Programs

San Jose City College offers a certificate and Associate in Science degree in Cosmetology. The Cosmetology Program is designed to provide those persons interested in becoming a licensed cosmetologist with instruction in technical and theoretical knowledge relating to the basic skills in all phases of cosmetology including current salon techniques and trends. Emphasis is placed on application of skills in hair coloring, permanent waving, chemical relaxing, hair styling, hair cutting, manicuring, skin care, facials and makeup. Instruction in professionalism, salon management, chemistry, anatomy, physiology, sanitation, Cosmetology Act, rules and regulations are included.

The CSM Cosmetology program embraces a student-centered approach to collaborative team teaching and delivers current and comprehensive curricula via modern technologies, individual training, group projects, and supervised practice on the public, linking theoretical knowledge to hands-on (practical) experiences. Instruction on hair styling and cutting, chemical applications (hair color, curling, and straightening), nail, facial, and makeup services, cosmetology specialty classes, and portfolio preparation to include resume preparation and job placement support.

Learn professional cosmetic services in salons, resorts, casinos, dermatologist’s offices, and other related industry establishments. This includes courses in hair design, hair sculpting, chemical, esthetic, other cosmetic services, safety and sanitation, management, customer service, and preparation for practicing as a licensed cosmetologist in California.

The Cosmetology department offers two Certificates and an Associate in Applied Science degree program. There are two educational pathways in the Cosmetology program: Cosmetology and Cosmetology Instructor Training. The curriculum is designed to prepare the student for the State Board of Cosmetology Examination.

Cosmetology is a personal service occupation. The Cosmetology program is designed to meet the standards established by the New Mexico State Board of Barbers and Cosmetologists.

The Cosmetology program provides graduates with the necessary skills and knowledge to pass the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation Examination and function as competent cosmetologists.

The TONI&GUY Cosmetology program focuses on our Classics curriculum including 11 cut and nine color techniques. Students graduate with a fundamental education in hairdressing, with expertise in products, makeup, skincare, and an understanding of the salon experience as well as how to further their professional development.

The Cosmetology program provides training in hair, skin and nails. Classes will be held between 4 and 7 hours daily on a year-round basis in order to meet the state requirement for completion. Training during the first semester is an introduction to all subject areas and is achieved through theoretical learning in the classroom and hands-on learning in the laboratory setting. Intermediate and advanced training is the combination of theory pertaining to cosmetology and clinical training which is achieved through a clinical set-up with students working on patrons and/or mannequins.

Daytona State College's School of Cosmetology, Vocational Certificate program is performance-based and will help you develop the general knowledge, problem-solving abilities, and skills required for employment in your chosen discipline. Incorporated into the curricula is hands-on lab participation to help you develop subject mastery.

The Pitt Community College Cosmetology program is one of the most distinguished and affordable programs in Eastern NC. Our PCC Hair Styling Academy offers 1500 hours of training through classroom hours as well as supervised practical experience. Students can earn their required hours and be eligible for the North Carolina Cosmetic Arts Board licensing examination in just one year!
