Sales and Event Coordinator (SEC) is a new and innovative program MITT has developed in partnership with the Manitoba Tourism Education College (MTEC). The successful and long standing cross institutional partnership with the college and sector council benefits students in all areas of training and employment. Although students will receive the MITT credential upon successful completion, the 10 months of occupational specific, career development and technical courses are delivered by MTEC. MTEC's facility is located close to MITT, on Scurfield Blvd. At the end of the program, MTEC will connect eligible students with one of their numerous industry contacts to practice their skills in a 120 hour work practicum.

Students in the NSA program develop comprehensive skills in network infrastructure support using Cisco Systems and Microsoft products to create a secure enterprise network. Hands-on work in advanced labs outfitted with industry-grade hardware and software teaches students routing, switching, as well as firewall and server technologies to deploy a reliable and redundant network that also supports remote access and wide area interconnectivity.

The Medical Office Assistant program gives students the knowledge and skills necessary to provide administrative support to medical professionals in hospitals, physicians and specialists’ offices, as well as any health authority in the province.

This program introduces students to the theory and practice required to be a Level 1 Cook under the Manitoba Apprenticeship system and the Red Seal system. In the program, students examine occupational skills which include: the structure and scope of a cook; trade-safety awareness; communication; grade-related documents; tools and equipment; personal hygiene and kitchen sanitation; weights and measures; and cooking principles. Students also complete the Manitoba Trade Safety course. Students then explore specific types of food preparation including stocks, soups, and sauces; produce; pasta, pulses, grains and nuts; meat, poultry, and game; fish and seafood; garde-manger; dairy and egg products; and baked goods and desserts. A unique feature of the program is the focus on Asian cooking. Skills related to the preparation of foundational Asian cooking are woven into the curriculum building on the Level One cooking skills. Recipes for Japanese, Chinese, and Korean foods are included where appropriate. MITT’s Industrial Welding certificate program helps students build a strong foundation of the knowledge and skills required to design and build products by cutting and joining materials using ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Students work independently or in teams using current welding and fabrication equipment to complete projects in a learning environment that simulates an industrial welding shop. To complement their technical skills with the employability and essential skills employers demand, all students participate in MITT’s Work Skills Series workshops.

Hands-on learning in a shop environment, classroom theory, MITT's Work Skills Series workshops, and the opportunity to complete an eight-week work practicum combine to equip Automotive Service Technician students with career-ready fundamentals in automotive repair, basic diagnostics, and troubleshooting in just eight months. Graduates who meet specific criteria can earn credit toward Apprenticeship Manitoba Level 1.

The Rehabilitation Assistant program provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide safe and competent rehabilitative care to clients and their families. Rehabilitation assistants perform their duties under the supervision of a speech language pathologist, occupational therapist and/or physical therapist.
