This program provides students with the technical knowledge and skill of reading and interpreting building codes. Understanding materials used to meet the demands of the codes and the documentation needed to comply with inspections taking place during construction, remodeling, or maintenance of structures. With these new skills, students will obtain entry-level employment as an inspector or an inspector’s helper in new construction, remodeling construction, or operation of an existing building.

Building Information Modelling (BIM) is a concept that revolutionised the way construction projects are conceived by developing intelligent virtual models. When applying BIM, the resulting 3D model is a data-rich digital representation of the facility. It provides professionals with the necessary information to perform practical building analysis. This course aims to discuss several possibilities for adopting the BIM methodology for enhancing the decision-making process in building projects. For this, different tools and methods associated with BIM will be presented and applied to case studies.

A one-year Ontario College Certificate that provides hands-on carpentry and renovation training. The program combines shop-based practical experience with classroom instruction in carpentry/framing, blueprint reading, building-code standards, tool safety, plumbing, welding and green building techniques.

The Construction Techniques certificate program at Conestoga is a one-year program that provides students with a foundation for entering the trades.

Successful completion of the Associate in Arts in Construction Technology prepares students for entry into the construction trades, which require a technical skill and understanding of construction processes. Students planning on transferring to a four-year school should complete the AA Degree, which includes the 39-unit general education sequence of courses. Specific four-year institutions may require additional courses in the major to fulfill lower division requirements. This degree may not transfer to all universities, and students need to inquire of the universities if they have a bachelors degree for their upper division course work. A grade of "C" or better is required in all major, certificate and major elective courses.

With these new skills, students will be able to obtain entry-level employment as a technician or a technician’s helper in the field of HVAC automation controls or maintenance of HVAC automation control systems.

This professional development course in Professional Certificate of Competency in Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning is designed for engineers and technicians who need to understand how to maintain and troubleshoot HVAC systems. You may be eligible to claim CPD points through your local engineering association. Receive a Certificate of Completion from EIT.

Plumbers install, alter and repair the systems that keep our water and waste disposal systems running, and that provide many of the basic amenities we rely on day-to-day. They read and interpret blueprints and project specifications. Plumbers also select the type and size of pipe required for a project and measure, shape and join pipes according to the appropriate specifications.
