13 Adult Education Certificate Programs

The Certificate in Adult Education focuses on: understanding adult education learning theory and philosophies; becoming aware of the diverse needs of adult learners; and, learning and applying the methodologies and strategies needed to teach adults. The CAE consists of 9 courses (36 semester hours). Three (six semester hour) courses are offered by Holland College, and six (three semester hour) courses are offered by UPEI. Holland College and UPEI offer the required courses on a yearly basis and the electives over a two-year period.

Certificate I in General Education for Adults is a no-fee course that will help you get better at reading and writing. It will also help you with speaking to other people. In this course, you will also learn the basics of using a computer. Generally, it is recommended that you have access to a computer with a reliable internet connection and up-to-date software, including Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat Reader. TasTAFE has computers available for student use during normal business hours, at all major campuses.

If you are looking to enter university or increase your Queensland Tertiary Admission Centre (QTAC) ranking, then UQ College’s Online or Distance Learning Certificate IV in Adult Tertiary Preparation (CATP) is for you. Completion of this program will enable you to apply through QTAC for an approved ATAR, whether you are a recent school leaver or a mature-age student who has been absent from a formal study environment for some time.

GED® (General Educational Development) preparation classes are available to assist and prepare students to pass the Official GED® Tests, earn a State of Florida High School Diploma and successfully transition to postsecondary education or career advancement.

After completing the course, you will receive a TLM INGOTS Certification in Enterprise and Open Systems at Entry Level 3 or at Level 1 – whichever is best suited to your skills. You may then choose to progress on to a higher level IT course at College or seek entry level employment- perhaps in office administration or retail.
