This course, in partnership with the Technological Center for Ceramics and Glass (CTCV), is intended to be a training offer for senior management of companies in the Ceramic Industry in Portugal with basic training in other areas of knowledge. The materials for the integration of staff in the companies, despite adequate training with their ceramic processes and processes, are the only necessary and necessary that run through the entire production cycle of the ceramic product.

In the Material Art & Design program, you will learn how to create jewellery, textiles and ceramics as a professional studio artist or designer. You’ll focus on making your own designs and will learn the critical and business skills you’ll need to succeed.

MA Fine Art (Ceramics) at Bath Spa is designed to fully develop your creative potential as a ceramicist within a Fine Art context. We encourage you to experiment and take risks before going on to establish your strategy for practice. You’ll develop skills and knowledge through an exciting combination of practice, research, and professional development.

A major in ceramics provides the necessary technical knowledge, skills, and aesthetic judgment to students transferring to four-year institutions or professional art schools. The major can lead to a career in industrial design or as an individual craftsperson.

Our BA in Ceramics Design program offers an opportunity to practice and improve in a wide range of activities. Students are introduced to the possibility of experimenting and combining design, material research, 3D design, and 3D printing, a wide range of materials from paper to concrete. We believe in studio-focused education and training. The campus is located on the premises of the Zsolnay Cultural Quarter, where the beautiful historical buildings are filled with the atmosphere of pure culture. We are the only training center in Hungary where students can experience such a wide scale of design and making which will enable our students to solve assignments related to either design, craftsmanship, autonomous works of art, or contemporary architecture alike.

Core to our philosophy is an exploration of how we can make ideas manifest through a tacit exploration of active materials and the generative potential of the process.

Ceramics will be presented through an integrated archaeological and archaeometric approach. Students will have the opportunity to attend lessons on the history of research into the main classes (Italian, Gallic, African, and Eastern Terra Sigillata), on common and cooking wares and on the most widely distributed types of Roman amphorae.
