This summer school is a full-immersion workshop on cell culture techniques for both adherent and suspension cell lines with particular emphasis on cell viability assays. In the workshop, schematic theoretical lectures will be given to introduce the assay protocols and to plan the experimental part that will be hosted in cell biology laboratories.

Both theoretical and practical aspects of biomolecular research will be addressed in English, providing students with a global understanding of the field. The MBC course covers all principal areas of the LM-6 Biology course, with a unique focus on biomolecular subjects that distinguishes it from other courses of the same LM Class. The main goal of the MBC course is to train biologists in advanced biomolecular research, to address present and future scientific challenges.

This Master’s program is dedicated to molecular and cellular biology. It maintains a strong link between reductive molecular and structural approaches, as well as between more integrated approaches of cell biology & organism development and new therapeutic strategies. The purpose of the study program is to provide the students with advanced theoretical and practical knowledge in various areas of molecular and cell biology, genetics, and virology, as well as to familiarize them with modern methodical and technical approaches utilized in these scientific fields and with the possibilities of such approaches for problem-solving in current biological and biomedical science (including interdisciplinary research). The aim of the study is the dynamics, relationships, and functional characterization of basic structural components of eukaryotic cells under normal - physiological conditions and in pathological processes, as well as in their modeling. Furthermore, the general expressions of functional cells such as cell cycle, movement, etc., including its regulatory mechanisms. Methodical landmark is vytochemie, in situ hybridization, electron microscopy, image analysis, a biological experiment in vivo and in vitro.
