Biological Engineering (BIOE) is the application of sciences, mathematics and biological principles to advance human health and environmental sustainability. Biological Engineering students take mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, agricultural, and engineering courses during their matriculation at North Carolina A&T to satisfy the basic requirements in life sciences and engineering principles for this degree. Bachelor of Science (B.S.) - Agricultural Education (Secondary Education) - The curriculum in secondary education is for students seeking careers teaching agriscience in middle and high schools. Graduates are eligible to apply for the agricultural education teaching license in North Carolina. Students majoring in this concentration will also have to be admitted to the College of Education’s Teacher Education Program at N.C. A&T, and must earn a minimum grade point average of 2.8, in addition to other program requirements. Please ask your advisor for more details and information about these requirements.

laboratory animal science is a fascinating, relatively new field of applied science which deals with the biology of animal models used in biomedical research, and their relationships to man and other animal species in regard to health and disease prevention. It offers career opportunities in the pharmaceutical industry, in government regulatory agencies, and in research and development organizations. The B.S. in Laboratory Animal Science is the degree of choice for students who are interested in pre-vet, pre-med, and preparation for advanced studies in human and animal health-related areas. Graduates also emerge with leadership skills in the area of animal welfare. The degree is the only program of its kind in North Carolina.
