The general curriculum for the Physics B.S. will prepare students to pursue careers in multiple science, engineering, and data analysis fields as well as prepare them to enter into graduate school programs in Physics and related fields. Our mission is to demonstrate that physics is not for a select few, but can be enjoyed and understood by all who truly have an interest.

Public Health B.S. is a holistic learning experience specializing in faculty-mentored undergraduate research and cross-disciplinary engagement within the classroom and community. Learn how to assess the needs of target populations, create program goals and objectives, and develop strategies to foster health behavior change interventions for individuals and communities.

Students in the Mathematics B.S. program achieve skills of logical and analytical thinking, creative problem-solving, and quantitative reasoning, the study of mathematics as a cornerstone of a liberal arts education. Our program Computer Science B.S. balances academics with growing industries to prepare our students to work in exciting areas such as robotics, computer graphics, computer networking, information security, digital forensics, and bioinformatics. The Bachelor in Computer Science Program is accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET under the commission’s General Criteria and Program Criteria for Computer Science.

Students majoring in Finance B.S. benefit from student-centered education in a liberal arts environment that promotes inter-disciplinary learning. The Finance B.S. is part of the College of Business and Technology, which is accredited by AACSB. Outcomes in the program help to support this accreditation.

Our Economics B.S. program focuses on developing analytical reasoning, quantitative skills, and communication skills. Our two-course senior capstone strengthens our majors' quantitative and communication skills with an original research paper that uses advanced statistical analysis. The major is designed to enable a smooth transition to graduate school with over 37 graduates being accepted in the last 10 years.

A bachelor’s degree in Middle Grades Education prepares graduates to teach in grades 4th – 8th. At Georgia College & State University candidates are well-rounded through a balanced curriculum delivered through a mentor-led, field-based cohort model. Many of our teacher candidates receive teaching offers before they graduate. We also have a Middle Grades Education M.Ed. available for students who want to continue their education.

The mission of the BS in Environmental Science is to prepare students to explore the interrelationships between human and natural systems. Students completing this major are well prepared for employment in a variety of state and federal agencies, consulting firms, or for admission into graduate school. The Bachelor of Science in Environmental Sciences prepares students to explore the interrelationships between human and natural systems and to think critically and analytically to solve the environmental problems facing our society.

Our mentor-led, field-based cohort will prepare graduates for a Georgia Professional Standards teaching certificate, level-4 (or T-4), and graduate with a teaching certificate in Dyslexia Endorsement. Receive hands-on experience and prepare for a career either as a fitness professional or continue your education in a professional school such as physical therapy or occupational therapy. Gain an understanding of both the understanding of the human body and the sciences. Accumulate pre-requisite hours (as part of the program) in preparation for post-professional graduate programs (DPT; OT; PA; etc.) within the Pre Professional and Sports Medicine concentrations.

Our Sociology B.A. curriculum is designed to give all students a core foundation in the discipline and genuine exposure to transformative educational experiences like undergraduate research, study abroad, internships, and community-based engaged learning. Choose your capstone experience before graduation. We offer several options such as Independent Study, Internships, Student Research, or a Special Topic.

All undergraduate biology majors will receive thorough instruction in the scientific process and interpretation of scientific data along with experimental design and experience with modern instrumentation. The Bachelor of Science in Biology will provide students with a sound understanding of cellular and molecular biology, organismal biology, evolution and ecology.

Our Concentration Chemistry B.S. Starts building a solid background in science. Courses meet the guidelines of the American Chemistry Society and include inorganic chemistry, chemical analysis and instrumental methods of analysis, organic chemistry, and physical chemistry. Our Chemistry programs aim to expose students to careers and chemistry and science education, as each scholar will be mentored by a faculty member.

Students in the Bachelor of Data Science program can apply their expertise, including skills in programming, algorithms, data mining, and machine learning, to interpret data providing meaningful information for industry or research.
