Students will develop strong problem-solving skills, learn to write efficient code, and collaborate with artists and designers to provide optimized solutions for game design. The BS in Game Programming curriculum emphasizes the data structures, algorithms, and software architecture techniques used by the industry to create cutting-edge games.

The Finance concentration teaches students to recognize, understand, and attain the skills necessary to be successful in the world of finance.

The concentration in General Business is designed to provide a solid foundation in the functional areas of business and offers students flexibility in selecting from a broad range of business courses.

The Management concentration prepares students to succeed in a wide array of positions in virtually any career. Students learn to see the big picture of any organization, how key pieces fit together, and how the organization fits into an industry, field, and the overall economy.

The mission of the Hospitality, Tourism and Event Management department is to be a student-centered academic and professional environment dedicated to educating exceptional hospitality and tourism industry business leaders through experiential and personalized learning. The program is designed to provide students with a core of business education and professional hospitality and tourism management knowledge. Students can choose to focus on an elective emphasis, including: hotel operations management; food and beverage management; conventions, meetings and event management, or tourism management.

The 58-unit Bachelor of Science in Visual Communication Design encompasses and integrates graphic design and interactive design while offering additional study addressing advanced concepts and a changing technological landscape. Students are prepared to collaborate with other design disciplines in technology, user experience, and creative problem-solving.

The Bachelor of Science in Statistics is an interdisciplinary program offered for students who intend to pursue an advanced degree, or who are planning careers as statisticians in industry, business, government, or scientific research. To give the students both breadth and depth and to introduce them to a variety of fields where statistics may be applied, we offer three emphases for the degree: science, business, and economics.

The Physiology program is designed to provide a firm foundation in physiology. Students interested in vertebrate, invertebrate, and plant physiology will find this concentration appropriate. The program is one commonly taken by students preparing for careers in the health professions. Please note, though, that it may be necessary to take courses in addition to those required for the concentration to satisfy the prerequisites for admission to graduate schools or health profession programs.

The accounting concentration is designed to provide a solid foundation of accounting and business knowledge that prepares students for careers in accounting. Courses are structured to allow flexibility in preparing for a career path in public accounting, private industry, and government or nonprofit organizations.

The Decision Sciences concentration provides students with the skills necessary to analyze and solve practical business problems. Concentration courses allow students to acquire competence in decision making through the use of professional business software, such as spreadsheet, forecasting, and simulation packages.

High school preparation for undergraduate programs in physics, astronomy, and astrophysics should include four years of math at least through pre-calculus and one year each of chemistry, physics, and computer programming. Students are strongly encouraged to periodically meet with a major advisor to review course selection and degree progress. The B.A. degrees are ideal for students who want a strong background in physical science but desire more flexibility to blend their curriculum with “liberal arts” and other interests.

The primary aim of applied mathematics is to elucidate scientific concepts and to describe and predict phenomena through the use of mathematics. The applied mathematician is at once a mathematical specialist and a systems analyst whose task is to confront complex real-world problems with mathematical analysis. In business and industry, the applied mathematician has opportunities to utilize both background and training in solving problems of a practical nature.

With an emphasis on the quantitative and analytical skills needed in the business environment, the Bachelor of Science in Business (BSB) provides a solid foundation in the functional aspects of business organizations including accounting, finance, operations, marketing, information technology, and data analysis. While studying the core subjects, students will examine in-depth a wide spectrum of business-related issues, such as how to organize and run a business; how to identify business opportunities and to create value; how to understand the changing definitions of profit and success in a global and diverse marketplace; and the causes of business success and failure. The BSB also provides a pathway to graduate study such as the MBA, the Master of Science degrees in Taxation or Finance, and the Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology or Industrial-Organizational Psychology.

Data Analytics is a technically-oriented program that will help students build a tool-set of data analytics skills. Students will gain real-world, practical training from leading-edge industry professionals who place data analytics within a business and enterprise context, ensuring that students become well-rounded professionals themselves. This program will help the adult undergraduate student acquire an understanding of, and competency in, current trends in data analytics, applying them to generate insights from data in a variety of business and organizational contexts. Students will learn about Big Data, master the technical aspects of data analytics, and understand the relevance of this type of analysis to business and organizations.

The Bachelor of Science in Applied Machine Learning prepares students for careers in fields that require application and development of machine learning algorithms in order to automate processes, create models, and gain better insights in a variety of contexts. Students will learn a combination of statistics and computer science concepts with practical applications in machine learning, such as: programming, algorithms, natural language processing, and deep learning.
