This emphasis focuses on strategic issues related to the tourism and transportation industries. Students can take a combination of tourism and transportation-related courses or choose courses that focus on one of these two areas. Tourism management courses cover destination management; travel distribution systems; marketing and management principles within specific types of businesses, geography, and socio-cultural aspects of tourism; and sustainable tourism, cultural heritage, and destination management by cultural values. The option will also take into consideration the movement of agricultural commodities, fresh and processed foods, and managerial and safety issues pertinent to the transportation and storage of agricultural commodities.
