The final 18 hours of the major core is an interdisciplinary study in psychology, counseling, and pastoral care. Students who complete this degree program will be able to: 1. This program of study is designed to prepare Christian leaders (both lay leaders and preachers) to perform various ministries within the local church context. The final 18 hours of the BSMLW focuses on preparing students to serve as worship pastors through studies in music theory, worship leadership, music composition, sound production, and music performance. Students who complete this degree program will be able to: 1. Properly use hermeneutical tools to exegete and apply the Bible in ministry contexts 2. Analyze and apply basic Christian theology in ministry contexts 3. Apply planning, team, financial leadership skills in ministry contexts 4. Use basic music theory and aural theory in the context of worship ministry 5. Integrate their biblical interpretation, theological, leadership, and biblical studies competencies in ministry contexts.

The Bachelor of Biblical Studies area focuses on the canonical books of the Bible, both within their historical and cultural worlds and in relation to their reception within the Christian and Jewish traditions. All students acquire a thorough competency in both the Old Testament/Hebrew Bible and the New Testament, including competency in Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek. Students may learn other ancient languages and literatures as their research requires. The comprehensive exams cover the whole Bible, with emphasis on either the Old Testament/Hebrew Bible or the New Testament, and include a specialized exam in an area of study pertinent to the student's dissertation.
