    Despite popular belief, the study of pharmaceutical science does not prepare individuals to become pharmacists. Rather, it focuses on preparing pupils for positions in the research, marketing, wholesales, administration and regulation of pharmaceutical drugs, all of which are important to provide consumers with safer and more effective drug products.

    Officially known as the Italian Republic, the country is found in southern Europe. The official language is Italian and the cultural rich capital is Rome. Many of the world's oldest universities are located in Italy, in particular the University of Bologna (founded in 1088). There are three Superior Graduate Schools with "university status", three institutes with the status of Doctoral Colleges, which function at graduate and post-graduate level.

    Academic institutions around the world offer a BSc or Bachelor of Science. This popular undergraduate degree is helpful in preparing students for the workplace or for advanced degree programs. The average BSc takes three to five years to complete.
