The Biomedicine study program is an international program given completely in English. From autumn 2021 the program is updated with a stronger focus on the employment market for biomedicine, medical research, and digital health. The program gives you a broad education, from chemistry and medical biochemistry to cell and human biology, anatomy, genetics, immunology, microbiology, molecular biology, pharmacology, physiology, infection biology, and the biomedical basis of diseases.

Molecular Biodesign is a form of biological design that has been developed to deal with a structural or functional biological task. The program leads to a broad degree in bioscience, with a focus on molecular biology and biotechnology. It is within these fields that your future employment market can be found.

In this programme, you will study environmental processes, monitoring and data management on local and global scales. You will obtain knowledge of various ecosystems, climate and climate change, land forming processes and land use. You learn useful tools such as GIS, remote sensing and digital mapping for analyzing and presenting data. You also gain the perspective of human activities, exploitation of natural resources and development. You will study in an international environment and learn both theory and practice through field excursions, group work and computer labs. This is an academic programme designed for students with a strong interest in mathematics, mathematical statistics and scientific computing. Flexibility and individual adaptation are keywords. A vast variety of courses in mathematics, statistics and numerical analysis are available within the programme and can be combined with courses from all other science areas, economics and finance, engineering, humanities and social sciences available at our university or within an exchange programme with other universities. For students with a strong interest in pure mathematics, the programme offers a path of courses at a higher theoretical level that can be continued at Master’s and even further at PhD level. For those students interested in more applied areas, there is a high degree of flexibility in choosing course combinations suitable for certain professions.

The aim is to give the students an understanding of molecular mechanisms, biomedical methods and human biology, as well as to enable them to apply knowledge and competences on problems that are relevant to the origin and treatment of human disease. The teachers are active biomedical research scientists and the education runs with an international focus to prepare the students for a global labour market.
