Midwives fulfill caring and nursing tasks during pregnancies, in the postpartum period and on the occasion of gynecological problems while cooperating with other health care professionals in order to achieve the best possible outcome for each family.

The BSc Midwifery course will prepare you to become a competent midwife who is sensitive to the needs of pregnant women and their families. The course leads to registration as a midwife (R.M.)

Are you a registered adult nurse and considering a move into midwifery? If so, this two-year course is ideal as it recognises the skills and knowledge you already have. You'll gain the scientific knowledge and practical skills for a midwifery career, graduating with a degree and a professional midwifery qualification.

This course will provide the learner with a foundational understanding of childbirth as a human right. Students will examine models of care that work, diving deeply into understanding the Medical Model and the four tenets of the Midwifery Model of Care. The current care system will be examined for its flaws with an eye toward effective change with a focus on the safety of out-of-hospital birth.

The Bachelor of Science in Midwifery degree will teach women life-saving skills, opening the door for them to partner with other women around the world and impact families with the love of Jesus. You will learn how to provide safe care throughout pregnancy, birth, and the newborn period, gaining hands-on experience in the process.

The midwife meets the start of life and is close to the woman giving birth and the new family. But the independent and exciting work with the whole world as a field of work is not just about maternity care.

Take the 4 year BSc (Hons) Child Nursing degree and take part in practice placements in a wide variety of settings even international placements are available. On completion, you can register as a Children's Nurse.
