For students who have already earned a bachelor’s degree in any field, Louisiana Christian University offers an Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing that allows the completion of nursing courses in 17 months. Students who enroll in this option will only need to complete the courses required for the completion of the BSN degree. Block credit will be given for the general education courses from the earned bachelor’s degree. The ABSN requires 31 hours of non-nursing pre-requisite courses that must be completed with a grade of a “C” or better prior to entering nursing courses. Based on the coursework completed in the earned bachelor’s degree, some substitutions may be allowed for the required courses, i.e., psychology, math statistics, etc. The ABSN has a total of 63 credit hours that must be earned in addition to the non-nursing pre-requisites.
