The Stephens College Equestrian program is known for hands-on, immersive learning, a small class environment, and faculty, advisers, and mentors dedicated to your success. Equine studies majors will choose one of two tracks: Equine Business and Equine Science. The Equine Business track is designed for students interested in the organizational, managerial, and commercial aspects of the equine industry, as well as for students interested in advanced performance horse care and stable management. The Equine Science This track is designed for students interested in pursuing careers dedicated to equine health and management.

Feather River College started offering in the Fall of 2016 a bachelor's of science pilot program in equine and ranch management in cooperation with the California Community College Chancellor’s Office. This unique degree combines scientific agricultural ranch management courses with hands-on horse related disciplines that incorporate traditional and progressive performance-horse methods.

This option prepares students for entry into chiropractic programs that will eventually lead to a Doctor of Chiropractic Degree with certification as an animal/equine chiropractor. Specifically, the program is designed to meet the prerequisite coursework requirements for Parker University’s Chiropractic Degree Program located in Dallas, Texas. However, it may be tailored to the student’s chiropractic school of choice. To be eligible for certification as an animal/equine chiropractor, a student must be a graduate or have senior standing from an accredited veterinary college or an accredited chiropractic college. Upon completion of Parker University’s doctoral and postgraduate programs a graduate would be able to work with both human and animal patients

Successful completion of the Animal Science track of Agriculture will enable students to apply for acceptance into graduate animal science programs needing a strong emphasis on sciences.
