BSc (Hons) Dietetics strive to provide the best possible nutritional care for clients with acute and chronic health conditions. As part of this course, you’ll: Learn to interpret and communicate the science of nutrition and understand how to use dietary manipulation and food to treat disease and optimise health.

The program will prepare graduates to work collaboratively and interprofessionally. In the James Madison University Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD), students use creativity in learning from classroom experiences, case studies, computer applications, and problem-solving and decision-making projects. Students will gain research experience in their senior year. Students also obtain real-life experiences by completing a hospital-based practicum covering all aspects of dietetics practice.

The Coordinated Program in Dietetics offered by the College of Medicine and Health Sciences aims to prepare graduates who are competent entry-level dietitians. As a student in the nutrition and dietetics major at Messiah University, you will learn how to apply scientific principles, communication techniques, and management strategies to improve the nutritional health of individuals and communities.

The Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) in the Department of Human Nutrition, Food and Animal Sciences (HNFAS) is the only dietetics program offered in Hawai'i. Students are expected to rigorously apply their knowledge and skills in food science and nutrition for daily living and good health.

MTSU’s Nutrition and Food Science Major, Dietetics Concentration (aka Didactic Program in Dietetics or DPD), has been preparing graduates to become competitive registered dietitians/registered dietitian nutritionists (RD/RDNs) for more than 50 years. Graduates have a significantly higher match rate of 100% than the national rate of 70% (average for the last three years) for obtaining competitive spots in post-baccalaureate dietetic internships.

Graduates of IMU’s Dietetics with Nutrition Degree programme will be able to work as dietitians in the government and private sectors, providing healthcare services, food service management, and counselling in disease management and prevention.

Job prospects are bright for Registered Dietitian Nutritionists—especially those who graduate from UNC’s accredited dietetics bachelor’s degree program. About 75 percent of our students (above the national average) are admitted to postgraduate internships, which are required before you can take the national board examination to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN).
