11 Dance BSc Degree Programs

The internationally recognized ensemble Kinetic Light performed at the Sloan Performing Arts Center as part of the group’s fall 2022 East Coast tour. Using art, technology, design, and dance, the artists create, perform, and teach at the intersections of access, queerness, disability, dance, and race.

The Bachelor of Arts in Dance offers diverse, rigorous dance training within the context of Loyola’s Ignatian liberal arts curriculum in the service of social justice. The dance curriculum features classical, contemporary and global forms which contextualize and enrich current and emerging approaches to dance creation, dance research, and performance.

MTSU offers the only Bachelor of Science degree in Dance at a public university in Tennessee. The program promotes diverse intellectual and artistic scholarship while fostering professional and social excellence in a liberal arts setting. Through studio training, dance studies courses, and curricular and co-curricular activities, our students can be prepared to become artists, scholars, educators, arts advocates, and leaders in the field of dance and beyond. Admission to the B.S. in Dance is through audition only.

The dance department offers a wide range of courses for majors and nonmajors to study the art and science of human movement. An undergraduate major in dance is an excellent means of gaining in-depth knowledge of the art form and its related fields.

Fredonia’s Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance prepares developing artists to successfully navigate the complexities of the contemporary dance field and to find their unique path to a satisfying and sustainable career in dance. By fostering the discovery and evolution of each student’s singular creative voice, we encourage them to take their places as engaged, self-reflective citizens of the global arts community.

The Dance Minor program of the Department of Drama engages both practical and theoretical applications to unmask dance as an investigative, expressive, and collaborative field of study.
