The mission of the Southeastern Louisiana University Engineering Technology program is to prepare students so that they will establish themselves as successful, practicing graduates in their respective concentration in ET, and will advance themselves professionally by accepting responsibilities and leadership roles for the benefit of society. The Engineering Technology program is accredited by the Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission of ABET.

The main aim of the course is to give you the skills to take projects from design to reality. The course will provide you with a broadly based management and technological education so that you are capable of recognising, evaluating and solving constructional and business problems associated with building and civil engineering projects.

The purpose of the program is to train engineers with appropriate knowledge and skills that will enable them to fulfil tasks related to construction, maintenance, operation, management, and professional administration. The four-year Construction Engineering program will prepare graduates to ethically and judiciously apply knowledge of science, mathematics and engineering methods to solve a wide range of technologically complex construction problems.

He overarching aim of the BSc (Hons) Construction Engineering & Management programme is to produce high calibre graduates who shall have obtained the relevant competencies to undertake roles within one of the many disciplines of construction engineering and construction management.

The civil and construction engineering program focuses on structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, environmental engineering, and construction engineering. However, the program also exposes students to other major areas of civil engineering, including materials engineering, water resources engineering, highway engineering, and surveying.
