7 Computer Technology BSc Degree Programs

Our graduates are creative problem solvers, lifelong learners, and highly adaptable leaders in our rapidly changing world. In addition to studying fundamental computing science topics, our students choose from a variety of elective courses, including artificial intelligence, software engineering, computer graphics, databases, programming languages, computer networking, and virtual reality.

The E.C.E.T. department serves as a home for four BS degree programs which include, Electronics Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering Technology, Automation and Control Engineering Technology and Information Technology. Each of these programs allow our graduates to enter the job market with specific skill sets, allowing them to launch their careers in well paid entry level job positions. The breadth of study in these degree programs allows our graduates to relatively quickly move into positions of responsibility in fields such as design, testing, manufacturing, system integration, maintenance, production support, customer support and business systems support.

In the first year of your Computer Games Technology degree, you’ll be introduced to the many technologies used to implement a design for a video game. You’ll spend time looking into the development lifecycle of video games with a particular focus on the player experience and how game developers can shape this. You’ll be introduced to the high-level programming knowledge a game developer needs, allowing you to create games that are robust and efficient – a critical requirement of the video games industry. You’ll also understand the principal components of high-level programming code, laying the foundation for other modules.

The Computers and Information Systems (CIS) curriculum is primarily concerned with the application of the systems development life cycle to business-oriented, computer-based information systems. As such, its subject matter involves the study of systems analysis, systems design, database management, and computer programming, along with other technical and business study areas pertinent to the development and implementation of information systems in a variety of operational and administrative settings.
