This course will help you take off as a pilot and future aviation leader. In Year 2 you'll be based at one of our partner flight schools, which are approved Air Training Organizations (ATO), with training delivered by specialist ground school instructors. You'll study the syllabus of the 13 Theoretical Knowledge exams needed to obtain a UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) ATPL (A) licence.

Our multidisciplinary course will focus on giving you a firm academic base in the core disciplines of aviation management, with a particular focus on the international business setting. It will help you develop an understanding of the global business environment in which airlines and airports operate through the study of economics, human resources, marketing and finance.

As with our aerospace technology with a management degree, this broad-based aviation course has an emphasis on computer-aided engineering – including 3D modeling, computer-aided analysis, simulation, and computer-aided manufacture. You’ll develop your practical skills in workshops and well-equipped laboratories, while your piloting skills are developed in the second half of the course through the University’s flight simulators and tuition at a nationally recognised flight centre in the UK or US, at an additional cost.
