This course equips you for a career in product design, industrial design or in the product development sector, and is aligned to the way the design process is conducted in the industry today. You will develop your creativity, backed by a thorough understanding of engineering issues, to ensure that products can be manufactured within the constraints of time, cost and quality.

The specialization in Product Design -which is equivalent to a University Degree (240 ECTS) – provides future professionals with the knowledge and skills they need to design products bearing in mind the user and their surroundings, ergonomics, social value, technology and the materials needed to create a “good design”.

The Product Design Specialisation, itinerary in Transportation Design is a university degree (240 ECTS). This course provides students with the knowledge and skills they need to develop mobility solutions in the broadest sense, ranging all the way from designing the inside and outside of a motorbike, car, airplane, train or boat to all kinds of accessories and associated services.

The three-year course in Interior and Product Design prepares students to design objects used in various fields, as well as private and public spaces.

The Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Product Design) with Honours program is designed to equip graduates with the expertise and knowledge in the field of engineering design to fulfill the needs of the manufacturing industry. All products produced by the manufacturing sectors need to be designed initially. The BFA in Fashion Product Development encompasses the process of fashion product development that requires understanding and knowledge of the consumer, market, and trends, textiles and raw materials, product concept and line development, and sourcing and manufacturing. Drawing from their design courses, students will apply a high level design aesthetic to develop products that are appropriate for a brand and their target customers. Students will learn the hand drawing and drafting skills and the technical skills needed to produce detailed and accurate technical drawings and flat patterns using industry standard computer software. BFA graduates will be capable of working in various roles in a product development team.
