Our Chemical Engineering programme aims to provide students with a sound understanding of chemical engineering fundamentals to enable them to progress to professional Chartered Engineer status. In addition to a grounding in science, mathematics and engineering, our students acquire practical skills that are highly sought after by industry.

The Bachelor of Engineering in Process Engineering at GUtech is tailored to the requirements of the Sultanate of Oman and the wider region, yet it draws on state-of-the-art expertise accumulated at RWTH Aachen, Germany, the affiliate University of GUtech.

This major is an interdisciplinary major of mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, control engineering and other disciplines. The students trained have comprehensive knowledge of process technology, process equipment, process control and other multi-disciplinary knowledge, and can be used in the process industry (chemical industry, energy, light industry, environmental protection, Applied engineering and technical personnel engaged in the research, design, manufacturing of process equipment and control systems, as well as the research and secondary development and technical management of related products in the fields of medicine, food, biology, metallurgy, tobacco, etc.) and the electromechanical industry.

BEng Process Operations and Maintenance program is a four year degree program offered to those who want to gain knowledge in a focused area of chemical and mechanical engineering to pursue a career in industry or continue in graduate studies. The degree is awarded after the successful completion of 132 credit hours of undergraduate work listed in the curriculum below including a compulsory industrial internship and Capstone project.

The basis of really mastered processes is the creation of transparency about the current status of the processes in companies and public institutions. It must be documented which higher-level processes exist and for which products and services these processes are provided. In addition, clarity about the processes in detail, for example about the process branches and the organizational units involved. Furthermore, key figures are collected in order to be able to assess the performance of the processes, such as process processing times, throughput times, and costs.
