The Petroleum Engineer is trained to carry out study, project, calculation, construction, and management of works, facilities, and processes in all their stages: exploration, drilling, production, distillation, treatment, transportation, and storage of oil, gas, and its derivatives. Will perform highly technical and managerial competence tasks. He will be able to advise on location studies and the development of reservoirs. Selection of equipment, instruments, and tools related to different stages of development of a reservoir. Optimization of various treatments in injection wells and/or producers.

A Bachelor of Petroleum Engineering Technology (Operation and Safety) with an Honours program that applies Engineering Technology in Oil & Gas (Operation & Safety) in Downstream Plants. Produce versatile engineer and technologist with sufficient theoretical knowledge and technical capability in operating on oil and gas downstream plants.

The Chemical and Petroleum Engineering Department is devoted to educating exemplary chemical engineers by instituting best learning practices that drives knowledge, build skills and competencies, and inspire the learner to define a purpose, develop a passion to forever learn, cultivate a sense of responsibility toward the profession, society and the environment, and attain the ability to confront challenges, and in so doing contribute to the advancement of the community, immediate and beyond.

To train professionals capable of designing, analyzing, preparing, and directing technically viable and economically feasible projects related to hydrocarbon production and processing systems, oil treatment, and refining, assuming the management of conversion processes to obtain petroleum products for the manufacture of chemical and petrochemical products promoting proper storage and marketing procedures, all within a current legislative framework and with respect for humans and the environment.

The Petrobras Jovem Aprendiz Program (PPJA), carried out based on Law 10,097, aims to promote the social inclusion of young people through professional qualification, contributing to their insertion in the labor market.
