A graduate of this Operation of Marine Power Plants of this study is awarded a degree of Engineering (corresponding to a Bachelor of Engineering). Having obtained a diploma of an Assistant Engineer, the person may perform the function of an officer in the marine vessel engineering department or may be employed in a repair shipyard as well as in maintenance departments of enterprises such as electrical power and heating plants, paper factories, steelworks, ports, sewage treatment plants, and pump stations.

Technological innovations in maritime transport are among the most modern in the global transport system, and this study program is designed to train Officer in Charge of an Engine Watch (OICEW) who will ensure the successful operation and maintenance of modern ship engines and other energy equipment of various power.

This is a balanced curriculum incorporating mechanical engineering, electrical and electronic engineering, and environmental sciences. The Ship Management Course trains marine engineers for large vessels, and the Mechatronics Course teaches the theory of component technology related to heat, materials, fluids, and environment.

The study program Marine Engineering and Technology Maritime Transport, at the undergraduate level, is intended for officers acquiring certification for chief engineer and second engineer officer, at the management level on a ship powered by the main propulsion machinery of over 3000 kW.

The rapid development of today’s marine industry has started a few decades ago. The huge scope of this industry includes various types of vessels, offshore platform design, construction, operation, and maintenance until the production of spare parts and shipping equipment. By looking at the statistics and the needs of human resources in the industry, UniKL MIMET aspires to offer courses based on Bachelor of Marine Engineering Technology with Honours to produce more semi-professional bodies that are able to contribute to the development and achievement of the industry and to the country generally.

Shipbuilding and Ship Machinery Engineering covers the engineering services of ships, vehicles and structures operating in sea and inland waters and engineering activities carried out in related facilities on land.

Maritime Transportation and Management Engineering department is committed to addressing the educational and research needs to ensure sustainable management of maritime resources. Main research activities involve ship handling, port and agency management.

The Faculty of Engineering of Heliopolis University was established to combat Egypt’s challenges and bridge the gap between industry and research/academia. It aims at developing the cultural and technical capabilities of the future generation. It includes five departments: Basic Sciences, Electromechanics, Mechatronis , Civil Engineering, and Green Architecture. The Faculty of Engineering grants a Bsc degree in Water Engineering, Energy Engineering, Mechatronics, and Green Architecture.

Program objectives: Training of highly-skilled, fieldwork-oriented expert - Ship's navigator able to meet competition requirements existing in Georgian and international educational and labour markets, who understand the specificity of the profession and obligations to be fulfilled, has theoretical knowledge and practical skills, required for the professional activity.

The ship and Yacht Design undergraduate programme aim to build an international reputation and has been developed in conjunction with the industry to ensure essential skills in both the design and production of ships and yachts are covered. Students on this new programme will study basic design and engineering science underlying great design and the fundamental principles of naval architecture, construction methods, and high-tech fibre reinforced composite materials.
