10 Law and Social Science Bachelor's Degree Programs in Colombia

Law is the normative and institutional order of human behavior in society inspired by postulates of justice and legal certainty, the basis of which is the existing social relations that determine its content and character in a given place and time. Our general purpose is to train competent professionals in legal science, capable of understanding and transforming the social reality in which they are immersed with social, political, and economic leadership, for the resolution of conflicts and the promotion of the human person.

Planning constitutes a process, a social and political practice, that transcends the merely technical, since it demands the participation of the different actors in scenarios of discussion and agreement on matters of collective interest, referring to proposals for social development, which take shape in the Design of Plans, Programs, and Projects, as operational levels of planning. This implies a commitment to the construction of an inclusive, democratic society that guarantees the rights and opportunities of citizens.

BA Political Science has as a mission the humanistic and critical training of political scientists founded in disciplinary and interdisciplinary knowledge through academic processes, research, and social projection. This will allow the understanding and transformation of the social and political problems of the country and the south Colombian region, looking to contribute to the construction of a more democratic society, inclusive and just that strives towards the achievement of peace and development.

The training of the Social Worker of the San Alfonso University Foundation will allow them to understand and critically interpret the challenges of globalization and propose creative alternative solutions to the problems that affect the planning and social management of human and social development projects. Directs, manages, and evaluates the impact of projects, programs, plans, and public and social policies. The social worker in the peacebuilding scenario contributes to the development of human potentialities, the strengthening of the social fabric to face the needs derived from the armed conflict, establishing scenarios where knowledge and pedagogical practices converge, from which it can be projected a social transformation.

A profession that recognizes and understands the situations of those who are most at risk, that bets on social change based on the potentialities of the subjects, building strategies that generate decent living conditions.

The graduate of the Bachelor of Social Sciences is a professional who interacts with the knowledge acquired and demonstrates the competencies developed through pedagogical and humanistic performance consistent with regional and national educational needs in interaction with the world, for which he creatively proposes interventions pedagogical in order to contribute to the improvement of educational quality.

The BHS (Behavioral Science Concentration) provides expertise for careers in human/social services, psychology, and sociology.

The BCJ degree prepares graduates to work in a variety of positions in law enforcement, correction, probation, or other related fields.

The university professional program for Safety and Health at Work will train upright professionals, with human quality, proactive, with an innovative approach and leadership capacity that allows creating a culture of self-care, well-being, and safety as fundamental premises in their work environments; always avoiding human, physical and material losses, by creating effective risk management strategies present in any environment to guarantee the health of a certain population. In this way, our graduates will be able to contribute to the productivity and development of the region and the country.

The BHS program prepares graduates for careers in agencies involved in mental health care, welfare, corrections and education.
