Therefore, it seeks to contribute to the social inclusion of people, families, groups, organizations, and communities; to the improvement of the quality of life, and to the social development of the context in which the professional is inserted.

The Social Service of the Instituto Profesional Libertador de Los Andes is focused on problem-solving and change. Therefore, social workers are agents of change in society and in the lives of the individuals, families, and communities for which they work. The Social Service has grown up with humanitarian and democratic ideals, and its values ​​are based on respect for the equality, worth, and dignity of all people. Since its inception more than a century ago. Social Service practice has focused on addressing human needs and developing human potential. Human rights and social justice constitute the motivation and justification for the action of Social Work.

The career of Social Work at the Academy is oriented to solid and articulated theoretical and practical training, which facilitates an integrative vision of professional action. Graduates establish a critical and committed relationship with the realities they must face in the development of their disciplinary and professional practice, assuming leadership in the search for social justice, the promotion of democratic values ​​and the transformation of society. They intervene in social reality in an integral way, articulating disciplinary-theoretical learning with social practice, designing intervention strategies in the national social context, which allow the overcoming of social conflicts. He relates his professional practice to different social contexts, showing an open, critical, inclusive and reflective attitude to dialogue with the community, organizations and the different subjects and / or social actors.

The purpose of the Social Work career at the Andrés Bello University is to train critical, reflective, innovative, and responsible professionals within the framework of social intervention and research. For this, the training focuses on the development of knowledge and theoretical, methodological, and ethical skills for professional performance in the public sector, the private sector, and the third sector. The training provided by the Social Work Career considers national and international networks as a substrate to promote associativity that requires the improvement of the quality of life of people and communities living in situations of poverty and social and cultural vulnerability.

The Public Administrator trained at the Academy has a marked vocation for public service and interest in public affairs. His analytical and reflective capacity stands out, as well as his broad vision of the political and social reality that surrounds him, from a plural and democratic way of thinking. Our institution aspires to improve governance capacity, give content and directionality to systemic governance and articulate the action of senior leadership and competence that Chile requires in its current stage of development and international insertion. The task of conducting democratic public management and administering the new frontiers of politics, sociology, economy and administration, taking the pace and speed of the new times, which are transformed and happen in regional and world scenarios, implies thinking a State and a society that contains a critical mass of qualified human resources, reinvented administrations and national and global directorates that reproduce their societal utopias in the new realities.

The Public Administrator of IPLACEX is a professional capable of managing regional or local public organizations, through the organization's resources, be they physical, human, or intangible, through knowledge of the Chilean State, its structure, regulatory framework, and application of the same.
