The Department of Mechanical Engineering intends to foster professional technicians with theoretical and practical knowledge, right values, and vocational ethics, and contribute to the nation and the local industry by systematically teaching basic knowledge and expertise about mechanical engineering in order for them to efficiently carry out professional work such as design, production, and management, etc. in the field of mechanical engineering which is the foundation of the industrial society and to actively cope with rapid developments in the technological society.

This program deals with mechanical designing and processing, which are smart manufacturing systems using CAD/CAM. Training areas encompass ultra-high-speed processing, ultra-precision processing, micromachining, rapid prototyping, metal mold designs, and FMS, among others. Based on a well-structured curriculum, our program offers learning opportunities in the areas of CAD/CAM, intelligent product designs, forming and processing process interpretation, virtual processing, among others. The program is focused on producing creative experts endowed with the system-level theories relevant to industrial engineering along with holistic knowledge in advanced process engineering from design to processing.

The Department of Electrical System at DMU, through continuous development since the admission capacity started at 80 people in1976, has been training about 240 engineers crucial in electrical fields per year composed of 161 students currently attending and 80 from industry-commissioned education. Currently, the Department of Electrical System has about 20 faculty members in total who are continually striving to nurture professional technicians with on-site adaptability to lead this country's electrical industry. 20 members include 9 full-time professors who have outstanding industrial experiences and 12 adjunct professors who are acting as the best expert in the electrical field.
