Faculty members in anthropology at The College of Wooster have ongoing research projects in North and Latin America, Africa, East Asia and the Mediterranean and focus areas that include medical anthropology, gender and sexuality, witchcraft and religion, linguistic anthropology, educational anthropology and evolutionary theory. Because all students at The College of Wooster complete a senior Independent Study project, undergraduates work directly with faculty mentors to complete original research of their choosing.

Wooster offers a robust curriculum in both anthropological (or prehistoric) archaeology and historical archaeology. The program is designed both for majors and those students with an interest in archaeology as a significant, but not a major, emphasis in their liberal arts education. Wooster graduates make significant contributions to the field of archaeology, working in archaeology jobs at the National Park Service, in academia and as museum curators.

Graduates of the Communication Sciences & Disorders program at The College of Wooster have a solid understanding of human speech, language, and hearing, and have practical experience from the four semesters they spend working in the college’s Freedlander Speech and Hearing Clinic, an outpatient clinic for community members with speech, language, or hearing disorders. 

Economics majors from the College of Wooster pursue many career paths. They apply skills learned in the classroom before they graduate through experiential learning. Our curriculum builds analytical and critical thinking skills, as well as writing and communication that are prized by employers. For this reason, graduates have a variety of paths open to them.

Wooster prepares Biochemistry and Molecular Biology majors to respond to the ever-changing, fast-paced nature of the life sciences. The advanced learning and employment opportunities for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology graduates are wide-ranging, with many students considering a degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology to be a stepping-stone toward careers in research and medicine.

The Bachelor of Music Therapy degree program, accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music and the American Music Therapy Association, prepares students to use music as a therapeutic tool to address the physical, emotional, cognitive and social needs of individuals. The College of Wooster and the Baldwin Wallace University Conservatory of Music comprise the Cleveland Music Therapy Consortium.
