Accounting is known as the language of business. Individuals and businesses rely upon accountants to collect, classify, and determine financial stability. The Else School of Management offers a BBA in accounting and also a master of accountancy (MAcc).

The Music Program provides pre-professional studies for students who wish to major in music in a liberal arts setting. The curriculum includes Applied Music, Opera Workshop, Performance (piano and voice), Music Theory, Music History, Music Literature, and Music Education (including classes in instrumental methods and materials).

The Bachelor of Business Administration degree offers majors in either accounting or business administration. At Millsaps, you can choose a creative approach and major in studio art, a critical approach and major in art history, or a complementary double major in both studio art and art history. You can earn either a BS or BA, or opt to minor in studio art, digital arts, or art history.

Millsaps College offers the following pathways for those interested in education, education-allied fields, or youth-focused professions. Pursue a teaching license in secondary education(grades 7-12) through our partnership with William Carey University. Earn credit that can then be applied to a master’s degree in teaching from William Carey.

A degree in mathematics will provide a foundation for a lifetime of critical thinking and learning. Whether you are interested in mathematics for its own sake or applications of mathematics in a particular subject, the Millsaps College Department of Mathematics provides opportunities to develop quantitative reasoning, problem solving, and other skills.

Creative writing majors at Millsaps College pursue excellence in imaginative expression through written language in all its forms. Drawing inspiration from Mississippi's rich literary tradition, they hone their style by studying diverse cultural inheritances and historical contexts. The creative writing major's emphasis on close reading and careful writing can serve as a platform for any number of professions: journalism, marketing and communications, publishing, and law, to name a few. Majors will also be well prepared for graduate study in creative writing.

The study of chemistry, notably defined as the central science,prepares students for success in numerous occupations including medicine, environmental fields, industry, teaching, and law enforcement. The department of chemistry and biochemistry at Millsaps College is accredited through the American Chemical Society to offer the ACS degree certification in chemistry with an organic, biochemistry, or general chemistry track.

Psychology is a behavioral science that focuses on understanding developmental, cognitive, social, and mental health issues that are a natural part of the human experience. Through the appreciation of human diversity and embracing the proper application of the scientific method, you will hone your critical thinking skills to explore concepts both within and beyond the domains of psychology.

While literally meanin the love of wisdom,philosophy is the most ancient of academic disciplines. Fundamentally, philosophy is about understanding and analyzing arguments, determining whether a particular claim has relevant evidence provided for it, whether the evidence is logically related to the claim, and thus whether the claim is true, false, indeterminate, or as yet unsubstantiated.

Students who major in studio art have the option of pursuing a concentration in digital arts. A concentration on digital arts focuses on artistic work that uses digital technology as an essential part of the creative or presentation process. A minor is available to majors in art history and any other major outside of the Art Department. It is not allowed for majors in studio art.
