Letters bring together the disciplines belonging to what was once called the “humanities”: philosophy, history, languages (ancient and living), archeology, art history. Other branches have been added, reflecting the expansion of human knowledge: history and aesthetics of cinema, computer science and mathematical methods, linguistics, history, and the sciences of religions. The Bachelor of Arts represents the first stage of training which aims to transmit the knowledge, methods, and techniques specific to each discipline. It emphasizes initiation into research and its practice while promoting learning and the practice of interdisciplinarity.
