The Department of Nursing aims to nurture professional nurses for people to maintain optimized health conditions and assist their disease prevention, recovery, and rehabilitation by helping patients interact with their surroundings.

The aim is focused on cultivating rational thinking and subjective awareness targeting the exertion of philosophy with a broad understanding and commitment to the peaceful values related to mankind and the world. In order to achieve this goal, it is necessary to foster talented individuals by increasing their strengths and by equipping them with excellent skills in all aspects such as thinking, language, and behavioral training. Upon graduation, graduates can enter various fields including academia, education, journalism, politics, and business. In order to equip students to be able to play a leading role in their respective fields, a variety of courses, academic pilgrimages, seminars, discussion forums, etc. are offered.

Unlike other departments where students study only one specific field of interest, this department teaches the entire history as a whole and further broadens their perspective of the subject. Students in lower-level classes are able to learn the basics through interesting and helpful audio-visual courses while those in upper-level classes can receive intensive learning through special lectures and specified fields of interest. Not only do students learn from lectures, but they are also exposed to various academic societies offered by the department. Through this, students will be able to acquire better human relationships. Through visitations of historical sites offered each semester, students will be able to gather more knowledge of the country's rich cultural heritage.

Since its establishment in 1979, the Department of Korean Language and Literature focuses on three fields of study: Korean linguistics, contemporary literature, and classical literature. Korean linguistics is the study of rules and evolution that govern the Korean language whereas contemporary literature is the research, criticism, and creativeness of each literary genre of modern times. Classical literature is the study to understand the reality of the national literary traditions and establish a phase-cultural history by incorporating both the oral and written literature. The Department of Korean Language and Literature studies these three fields systematically and simultaneously explores a wide range of applications in ways to continue to contribute to the national culture.
