At IACC, Social Work, without a Bachelor's Degree, was born as an initiative for the current context and the need for professionals committed to social development, with relevant capacities, skills, and aptitudes to face the demands and challenges of the current social scenario. Therefore, it seeks to contribute to the social inclusion of people, families, groups, organizations, and communities; to the improvement of the quality of life, and to the social development of the context in which the professional is inserted.

The purpose of the Social Work career at the Andrés Bello University is to train critical, reflective, innovative, and responsible professionals within the framework of social intervention and research. For this, the training focuses on the development of knowledge and theoretical, methodological, and ethical skills for professional performance in the public sector, the private sector, and the third sector. The training provided by the Social Work Career considers national and international networks as a substrate to promote associativity that requires the improvement of the quality of life of people and communities living in situations of poverty and social and cultural vulnerability.

The career of Social Work at the Academy is oriented to solid and articulated theoretical and practical training, which facilitates an integrative vision of professional action. Graduates establish a critical and committed relationship with the realities they must face in the development of their disciplinary and professional practice, assuming leadership in the search for social justice, the promotion of democratic values ​​and the transformation of society. They intervene in social reality in an integral way, articulating disciplinary-theoretical learning with social practice, designing intervention strategies in the national social context, which allow the overcoming of social conflicts. He relates his professional practice to different social contexts, showing an open, critical, inclusive and reflective attitude to dialogue with the community, organizations and the different subjects and / or social actors.

The training of the Social Worker of the San Alfonso University Foundation will allow them to understand and critically interpret the challenges of globalization and propose creative alternative solutions to the problems that affect the planning and social management of human and social development projects. Directs, manages, and evaluates the impact of projects, programs, plans, and public and social policies. The social worker in the peacebuilding scenario contributes to the development of human potentialities, the strengthening of the social fabric to face the needs derived from the armed conflict, establishing scenarios where knowledge and pedagogical practices converge, from which it can be projected a social transformation.
