GESJ is an interdisciplinary program with courses in the areas of Culture and Criticism, Power and Inequality, and Human Rights and Social Justice. We ask how race, class, colonialism, ability, sex, and gender intersect in everyday acts of power, oppression, activism, and resistance. This program will provide you with highly transferrable skills in critical thinking, research, writing, argumentation, analysis, and communication.

Be part of an exciting and in-demand field. Our Community and Justice Services program looks at criminal justice through the lens of corrections and rehabilitation. Learn to work with individuals in the court system, during imprisonment and after release. After graduation, you may work as a correctional officer or help others re-enter society at a halfway house or other community agency.

The undergraduate program in Black Studies at Queen's is a diverse, interdisciplinary program that explores and engages the connections between the arts, social justice, decolonial thought, and practices of anti-oppression. Our program spans multiple faculties and units to bring together world-leading experts in art and activism, geography and planning, global health, literature, creative writing, history, music, philosophy, political thought, religion, and cognate fields of race and anti-racism.
