This BA (Honours) in Arts and Humanities (Religious Studies) degree gives you the freedom to combine the study of different subject areas in the arts and humanities. You'll develop a specialism in religious studies, exploring religions as an aspect of human culture, society and politics. You can combine this with a second specialism or choose to develop broader interests in art history, classical studies, creative writing, English language, English literature, history, modern languages, music, and philosophy.

In this BA (Honours) in Religion, Philosophy and Ethics qualification, you’ll explore human systems of thought and practice, both ‘secular’ and ‘religious’, in ways which allow you to engage with wide-ranging and often controversial issues affecting different cultures and societies across Africa, the Americas, Asia and Europe.

This is one of several specialist routes available in our BA (Honours) Social Sciences (R23) degree. You'll study core modules in interdisciplinary social science and sociology, giving you a firm grounding in ideas central to the social sciences. This will be combined with exploring a variety of phenomena mediated by religion, from consumerism and the environment, atheism and Hindu nationalism, to racism, the urban environment and contemporary pilgrimage.
