The Faculty of Jewish Studies at Bar-Ilan University is the largest and most varied of its kind in the world and includes nine departments in the different specialties within Jewish Studies. All of these are open to students of the Multidisciplinary Department, which breaks down the traditional boundaries between the various disciplines and brings them together in a program that is rich in content and unique in its variety. Each student in the department is guided in their studies by a senior academic advisor.

The Bachelor of Biblical Studies area focuses on the canonical books of the Bible, both within their historical and cultural worlds and in relation to their reception within the Christian and Jewish traditions. All students acquire a thorough competency in both the Old Testament/Hebrew Bible and the New Testament, including competency in Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek. Students may learn other ancient languages and literatures as their research requires. The comprehensive exams cover the whole Bible, with emphasis on either the Old Testament/Hebrew Bible or the New Testament, and include a specialized exam in an area of study pertinent to the student's dissertation.

The Associate of Biblical Foundations program requires 72 credits and is typically completed in 2-years. This program is designed to help students know God more deeply and be equipped to serve Him by means of a thorough, well-rounded, and prayerful study of His Word-the Bible. This is intended to provide students with a knowledge of God’s general will for their lives and a foundation for all aspects of their future, including their family life, vocation, ministry, employment, and future education. Graduating students from this program will demonstrate their learning through summaries covering every passage of Scripture, comprehensive exams and papers on various topics of Christian Theology, and personal, evaluated involvement in service to others including at least one Evangelistic Outreach.
