The 120-credit Bachelor of Fine Arts in Broadcasting opens students to the world of digital radio, digital video, webcasting and multimedia. This major prepares students for careers as varied as documentary producers, television writers, web video producers, news anchors, writers, radio broadcasters, and interview hosts.

The Radio and Television Direction and Production program aims to train students to conceive, design, carry out and direct radio and television projects, with criteria of efficiency and quality, in accordance with the needs and expectations of society and the different media. traditional and digital communication.

You will work in the UWS radio, podcast and television studios using the latest broadcasting facilities and digital sound and video editing suites. The course incorporates excellent teaching staff with professional guest lectures and work related opportunities. There will also be field visits to major national and international media organisations including the BBC and Glasgow’s Film City. You will also have the opportunity to broadcast on the campus radio station as part of this course, as well as other opportunities to gain hands-on practical experience working in live media.

The students are coached to develop, create and critique content from animation to mash-up, blogs, broadcasts, advertisements, and short films and to imaginatively build themselves to perform both as producer and consumer.
