The person who graduated from the Psychology career of the Silva Henríquez Catholic University is characterized by being a professional trained from a psychosocial perspective, being able to understand psychological phenomena in interaction with the social from an interdisciplinary emphasis, maintaining a permanent concern for problems emerging. He is competent in the identification of psychological phenomena and is theoretically positioned to: diagnose, design, propose, develop and evaluate interventions based on knowledge of the various fields of psychology, contributing to the psychosocial well-being of the community; as well as in working with interdisciplinary teams and in research processes. You can argue and justify your professional decisions and actions, based on disciplinary knowledge.

The psychologists of the Academy establish a critical and committed relationship with the realities that they must face in their professional practice. They have solid theoretical and empirical knowledge, relevant for the understanding of collective processes, the construction of subjectivity and the role of psychology in institutions and public policies. They can diagnose, interpret, investigate and reflectively intervene the psychosocial dimensions of human reality in multidisciplinary fields and contexts, articulating theory and practice in their work and promoting active participation, overcoming conflicts and the subjective and collective well-being of people and institutions. They manage to generate an autonomous and strategic praxis focused on strengthening individuals, groups, organizations and communities; and they can design, plan and manage processes, programs and systems autonomously and strategically in multidisciplinary fields and contexts.
