In the Department of Political Science and Public Administration, a large faculty includes members who specialize not only in political science and public administration but also in the fields of sociology, psychology, anthropology, law, and political economy.

Istanbul Medipol University Department of Political Science and International Relations aims to teach the fundamental concepts, theories, principles, methods, and approaches of international relations, political science, foreign policy, governance, political systems, and actors. It aims to improve students’ knowledge to understand the problems in these fields and develop their skills to resolve them.

The Political Science degree program aims to provide students with a scientific understanding of social phenomena that would enable them to uncover the roots of common perceptions and practices, challenge them when necessary, and come up with policy proposals when possible.

The Political Science and International Relations Department engages students in the study of how people govern themselves—from the smallest communities to the international system.

The major in Political Science and International Relations introduces students to the complex and fascinating world of politics and provides them with essential tools for understanding and analyzing it.

Political Science and International Relations cover a large variety of diverse areas such as: how states, organizations, and institutions interact at state and international levels; channels of communication and networks that have evolved through the process of globalisation; the foreign policies of states; democratization processes; political parties and electoral systems; state structures; national and international security; and the impacts on societies during these processes.

Undergraduate (Bachelor's Degree) program in Political Science and International Relations (in English) (First Cycle in QF-EHEA and 6th level in TYYÇ ) is an academically-oriented program giving access to degree and non-degree research program and professional practice demanding high levels of knowledge and skills.

The objectives of the department are to supply an overall and comprehensive outlook on political and administrative issues, develop a critical perspective on the state, law, political parties, local governments, bureaucracy, ideology, ethics, justice and the issues of gender, and provide the necessary research skills for analysing policymaking processes and initiating administrative reforms.

We offer a contemporary and comprehensive curriculum of Political Science and International Relations with a view to endowing our students with rich knowledge and advanced skills that will provide them the ability to analyze the developments taking place around the world in the fields of politics, security, diplomacy, law, and economy.

Our undergraduate degree is four years (eight semesters) and the language is 100% English. During their four-year training, our students can take language courses where they can learn more if they wish, a second foreign language.
