This is the only outdoor education degree in New Zealand to include sustainability as a major component. Our Bachelor of Engineering Technology (BEngTech) Mechanical Major is a three year degree comprising of core and elective courses with a focus on the design and implementation of engineering technology. The BEngTech (Mechanical) is fully accredited by Engineering New Zealand (EngNZ) and is recognised internationally under the Sydney Accord. In your first year of study you'll develop core engineering skills in computing, mathematics, management and the engineering sciences, plus some discipline specific topics. UTP: Commerce is equivalent to the first year of your undergraduate commerce studies. Upon completion of the program you will be eligible to progress* to the second year of the Bachelor of Commerce degree and you will be able to choose from a variety of specializations.

UTP: Science is equivalent to the first year of your undergraduate science studies. Upon completion of the program, you will be eligible to progress* to the second year of the Bachelor of Science degree and you will be able to choose from a variety of specializations.

UTP: Engineering is equivalent to the first year of your undergraduate engineering studies. Upon completion of the program, you will be eligible to progress* to the second year of the Bachelor of Engineering with Honours degree at the University of Canterbury and able to choose from a variety of specializations.

The Bachelor of Construction is designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to work at a high level in the construction industry, as a leader who is able to innovate and contribute to new ways of creating the built environment. The programme starts with an introduction to the knowledge, skills, attributes and academic abilities required of a construction manager or quantity surveyor. You'll gain discipline-specific skills and knowledge, starting with a focus on small domestic buildings then moving on to low-rise and large commercial construction, then heavily serviced, multifaceted projects.

With this degree you’ll learn how to generate ideas, solve problems and design innovative solutions in advertising, marketing and communication design environments. Core skills taught include design strategies, graphics, branding and communication, typography, art direction, drawing and illustration. In addition, you’ll choose three courses from a range of electives which will enable you to develop complementary skills in particular areas of interest.

During our three year programme you will study theory, participate in practical sessions and undertaken work placements in your chosen specialisation of sport and exercise science. Your studies will allow you to evaluate, facilitate and/or enhance sport and exercise performance in a wide range of contexts using current scientific principles and technologies. Part-time up to 6 years.

This highly practical programme will equip you with the skills and theory necessary to become a radio professional. We develop your understanding of the changing media environment, your practical research skills and prepare you for a first-time position in radio or online. You'll study production and performance while operating a commercial radio station, broadcasting throughout the Canterbury region.
