Students who wish to relocate to the Pittsburgh-Oakland campus to earn a BS in physics may complete their introductory, elective, and laboratory courses in physics on the Johnstown campus.

Environmental biology is the broadest of ESF's six biology majors, covering topics from molecules to ecosystems to regional landscapes. Students can choose one of the specialized areas as an elective or minor.

Pitt-Johnstown offers a bachelor of science degree in energy and earth resources with concentrations in energy resource geology and environmental geology. The University also offers a minor in geology and collaborates with the Education Division to offer a bachelor of science in secondary education – earth and space science.

Pitt-Johnstown began offering a Chemical Engineering (ChE) bachelor's degree in 2015. The enrollment has grown incrementally, more than doubling in size since 2017.
