To this formation, the didactics of sciences are added, guiding the training of the graduate towards the main advances in research in the teaching of Biological Sciences. To attend this training, activities are developed that include expository classes and practices in the field and laboratories of biology, microscopy, chemistry, informatics, geology, and visits to biological reserves. Such professionals will be qualified to work in research and/or teaching institutions, museums, herbaria, vivariums, industries, consulting companies, sanitation agencies, environmental preservation, parks, zoo botanical gardens, and government agencies.

The professional trained at Itaúna University must have the following profile: generalist, critical, ethical, and citizen with a spirit of solidarity; having an adequate theoretical foundation, as the basis for a competent action, which includes a deep knowledge of the diversity of living beings, as well as their organization and functioning at different levels, their phylogenetic and evolutionary relationships, their respective distributions, and relationships with the environment where they live; aware of the need to act with quality and responsibility for the preservation and management of biodiversity, health policies, environment, biotechnology, bioprospecting, biosafety, in environmental management, both in technical and scientific aspects, as in the formulation of policies, and to become a transforming agent of the present reality, seeking to improve the quality of life; committed to the results of its performance, guiding its professional conduct by humanistic criteria, commitment to citizenship and scientific rigor, as well as by legal ethical references; aware of your responsibility as an educator, in the various contexts of professional practice; able to act multi and interdisciplinarily, adaptable to the dynamics of the labor market and to the situations of continuous change thereof; prepared to develop innovative ideas and strategic actions, capable of expanding and perfecting its area of ​​operation. Emphasis is placed on the Course's pedagogical project, contents specific to the area of ​​biological sciences, the areas of chemistry, physics, and health, basic education, in addition to instrumentation for the teaching of science and biology. Pedagogical training, in addition to its specificities, includes an overview of education and the students' training processes.
