For those who wish to acquire an advanced study in theology through a short programme, we offer a Graduate Certificate in theology, ministry, and mission, validated by Durham University as part of the Common Awards scheme. In this part-time course, you will study level 5 and 6 modules, usually over one year.

The first year of the BA (Hons) provides a foundation in the main sub-disciplines of theology: biblical studies, doctrine, history and practical ministry.

The course helps people to deepen their theological understanding and draw upon the insights of academic study to support the Church. The course also serves as one component of the training for those preparing for Licensed and Ordained ministries. Those training for ministries must also must go through a Church in Wales selection process and will need to fulfil other training requirements. The course has inspired some students to explore their own vocation for ministry.

This degree is designed for those who would like to gain a solid grounding in Adventist history, theology, faith and the Bible but do not necessarily want to go into formal ministry.

This course's content is based on the principle that successful ministry is achieved through in-depth knowledge of Scripture, understanding the Church’s history and mission, and pastoral skills relevant to contemporary needs.

Students who complete this course successfully will receive a degree from Durham University. The agreement between Bristol Baptist College and Durham University is reviewed every five years and began in September 2014.

The OU-validated degree course is aimed at those preparing for long-term cross-cultural mission service and who appreciate the balance of practical and academic study.

The Applied Theology degree aims to equip you to serve God with integrity and confidence in a range of different settings.
