The Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry provides a rigorous curriculum and strong foundation in core chemistry and biology courses, with the option of the Pre-Health Professions Emphasis or the Research Emphasis. The Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry will prepare students for graduate work in chemistry or biochemistry; teaching chemistry in secondary schools; employment with industry or government; entry into professional schools such as medicine or dentistry; or entry into law school with a view toward specialization in patent or environmental law.

While pursuing the B.S. in Animal Science degree, students study domestic livestock, including sheep, cattle, goats, swine, horses and poultry. The curriculum includes a strong emphasis on biological and physical sciences, as well as animal health, nutrition, reproduction and management.

Biology: Molecular & Biochemistry is one of two Biology tracks. This track often leads students to careers in the health sciences (medicine, dentistry, physician assistant, physical therapy), microbiology, and immunology. Our comprehensive active-learning approach prepares students to pursue a variety of postgraduate studies. Some students enter careers immediately after graduation as teachers, laboratory technicians, and pharmaceutical sales representatives.
